Katie has written 8 plays, 2 musicals and directed 69 staged productions. She is very excited to make "Good Morning America" the 70th staged production on her director's resume. Along with writing and directing, she has done many shows as an actress, singer and dancer. Some of her favorite roles as an actress include the part of the "The Dancing Statue of Liberty" in Yakov Smirnoff's Broadway New York special "As long as We Both Shall Laugh," "Cinderella", "Belle" in the Christmas Carol, Kathryn in "Enemy of The People" in a Midwest tour directed by Diane Paulus, Marcella in an "Irish Rose's Turn" at the Duplex Cabaret in New York City, and "Mara" in numerous productions, of her original musical "The Dream Cafe Musical" at venues such as the beautiful Pabst Theater in Milwaukee, Redeemer Presbyterian Concert Hall in New York City, The Athenaeum Theater in Chicago, The Door County Auditorium, Door County, Wisconsin, and The Villa Terra Theater in Milwaukee. "The Dream Cafe Musical!" will soon be coming to the Capital of the Midwest...Decorah, Iowa!
As artistic director of Sacred Noise Society, Inc., and Klare Productions, Inc., Katie is thrilled to be able to bring to her home-town area of Decorah, Iowa at the Steyer Opera House, in this very special play: "Good Morning Miss America!" by Dr. Phyllis Yes. She is excited to be able to work with Dr. Richard Simon Hanson, Luther Professor Emeritus, Helen Hustad, former Luther Regent and friend, Kristin Samuelson, a very accomplished New York-based actress along with her brother, actor, and computer developer extraordinaire Jim O'Regan.
Katie's love of the arts and education has brought her career from Iowa to New York City, Chicago, Miami, Milwaukee and Door County. She is happy to be back in her home stompin' grounds of beautiful Decorah, Iowa, where she currently works in Development Officer for Luther College.
